There are many things that might hold us back from sharing our story and putting ourselves out there. It might be fear of judgement, fear of failure, shame, guilt or even just knowing how much or how little to share and when.
In this teaching episode, I talk about a story in the Bible between Peter, a disciple of Jesus, and Jesus that looks at how Peter was a bold follower, yet had a moment of holding back.
No matter what held him back, we know that he goes on to follow his calling and this is inspiring for us!

John 21:15-17 (The Passion Translation)
15 After they had breakfast, Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you burn with love for me more than these?”
Peter answered, “Yes, Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!”
“Then take care of my lambs,” Jesus said.
16 Jesus repeated his question the second time, “Simon, son of John, do you burn with love for me?”
Peter answered, “Yes, my Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!”
“Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.
Then Jesus asked him again, “Peter, son of John, do you have great affection for me?”
Peter was saddened by being asked the third time and said, “My Lord, you know everything. You know that I burn with love for you!”
Jesus replied, “Then feed my lambs!
“Don’t hesitate. God has called you and will guide you in your journey of what or when to share. Of how to show up and what to pursue. Follow him and be like Peter and dive in chasing after Jesus. When you show up, and you speak up and you share, it loosens others to share, to light up more towards doing what they desire to do.”
